The Nature of Releasing Tension
"I went out to a friend's property for this second attempt at this activity. I have been looking for a different way to indicate how I am connected to Nature. It is a mental game and wherever I name it I objectify it and it is completely subjective, personal thing and does not lend well to objectifying. To name it encapsulates it into the physical world and I know it, whatever it is, is much larger than that.
As I walked through the property and down to the river I let my attention wander, free to follow anything attractive it encountered. Birds caught my attention and I sent them love and gratitude, they responded with curiosity and I felt the connection. The Nature in them is visible and it is an easy step for me to see my kinship with them. From there it is easy for me to feel myself as the bird and experience from their perspective. The same was true for the willow shoots I held and spoke with, the lizards (they‚re everywhere), plants and the flowing water. I could identify with and perceive from their point of being.
The poppies were all about sunshine and rejoicing in color. The young Alder were about sending down roots in the floodplain. The wild pea, vetch, clover and wild mustard were all about competing for the bees active among their riot of blossoms, I could hear them calling to the bees, "sweet nectar, sweet nectar" and the bees buzzing their reply. I spent time in gratitude for them all and took a moment to Be each in turn, marveling at the warmth of the sun, the breeze, colors and aromas of the flowers everything was attractive to me.
I went to the river and put my hand in the flowing water, feeling the wetness, coolness and the swirling water. I know rivers are a living being and I can feel its energy through my fingers it the water. My breathing relaxes, I find myself sighing and releasing tension from my body and mind, I am connected and held in Nature's embrace, inner and outer vibration balanced and harmonious. I am amazed at the amount of tension I have had stored and I sense the flowing of it leaving my body to trickle into the ground. I do not worry about the negativity going into the Mother, I know She is strong enough to transmute it all.
I learned that I can open my perspective to include the perspective of plants, animals and rivers. I am the kind of person that looks for new and different ways to communicate my feelings. Nature recognizes and helps me release tension even when I don't recognize it myself, consciously. I allow my connection with Nature to facilitate the release of tension in my body. I receive love and guidance from listening to my natural attractions, nature's essence. I want to use my connection with Nature to help other people find balance in their lives"
